I mean, I know I'm now in the third trimester, and the baby is growing at a rapid rate, but really?! So much about my belly and body seems to be changing overnight; it's crazy!
I get many regular emails from various pregnancy apps informing me of what is happening in my body and with my baby on a given week. Here is what they said today (Quite timely too!):
Avoiding “Scale Shock”
As your baby begins to grow at a faster rate, you may notice an acceleration in weight gain around the 27 or 28-week mark. While this is perfectly normal, some moms-to-be become concerned about putting on too many extra pounds.
Although pregnancy is not the time to start a strict diet, there are some precautions you can take to keep your weight gain at a healthy level. Center your meals around nutritious, low-fat foods, and pay close attention to portion sizes. Each day, shoot for three or more servings of milk and dairy, at least three servings of vegetables, five or more servings of whole grains, and at least two servings of fruit.
By choosing the right foods and eating the right amounts, you’ll help ensure an easier transition to your pre-baby body after delivery.
I may be currently eating McDonald's for dinner, but I did choose the grilled chicken wrap over a cheeseburger. Sometimes, it's all about the little decisions for baby, right?!
