Another great appointment!

My doctor was really pleased with my lab results, saying my glucose and iron levels are wonderful. Yay! No signs of anemia here! She encouraged me to continue eating lots of veggies moving forward, as many are lost during birth.

I've gained one pound in the past two weeks, and my blood pressure continues to be good.

BBL is currently sideways, which made it difficult for the doctor to accurately measure him. She kept saying how active he is! He certainly is, especially when I'm sitting or trying to sleep. He also has been hiccupping a lot recently, which is quite cute. His heartrate continues to be strong.

Next stop -- 32 week appointment! Time continues to fly!

I've heard this is very true!

And even in our first pregnancy, I can already tell this is the case!!

I win!!

My win of the evening --

At a movie theater in The Villages, FL:

Employee: You can't bring that water bottle in with you, ma'am.

I turn around, surprised.

Employee: I can let you empty the bottle, but you can't bring that in with you.

Still shocked, I shot him a fierce "don't you dare mess with this pregnant momma" look.

Me: Really? You're going to tell an over 7 month pregnant woman what I can and cannot drink and that I can't have easy access to my water?!! ... Pause... I don't think so.

His jaw dropped, and BBL and I hurried back inside the theater. Not surprisingly, no staff member followed.

Good news!

I passed my one hour glucose test! Woot woot! No crazy 3 hour test for me!

Time to eat another cookie -- just kidding! ;)

I love glucose tests! Or not....

Yesterday morning, I had my one hour pregnancy glucose test. Basically, this involves drinking a nasty, overly sweet flat orange soda a half hour before your appointment, waiting, and then getting your blood drawn once one hour has passed. It tests for gestational diabetes, which is common during pregnancy but luckily disappears once the baby is born. Still, it can be very dangerous to both Mom and baby, resulting in an overweight -- or even dead -- baby if not treated properly.

I find out tomorrow whether I passed. Fingers crossed! If not, I have to endure a much more extensive three hour glucose test. No thanks!!

In addition to getting my blood drawn, I also discovered that I've gained 5 pounds in the past 6 weeks, which is very healthy, especially since I am now in my 29th week of pregnancy. My blood pressure continues to look great. The sugary drink caused Baby Boy L to go crazy, as he barely stayed still long enough for the doctor to get his heartrate, which is 144 (Anything between 120-160 bpm is considered normal at this stage). The doctor said, "Well, this baby certainly doesn't stay still, does he?!" Greg and I are both in for it if this little guy is as active once he's born!

BBL is also measuring perfectly. Thank goodness! I always worry, especially since I seem to be a bit smaller than others at this stage of pregnancy. I'm sure BBL will only continue to grow -- and move -- rapidly throughout the next several weeks!

I get to go back every 2 weeks for appointments moving forward. It's hard to believe I'm into the third trimester and that we will get to meet our little one in just over 2 months. WOW. Things are really starting to feel REAL, and we couldn't be more excited!

Let the countdown begin!!

Whoah, belly!

I swear my son grew by leaps and bounds overnight.

I mean, I know I'm now in the third trimester, and the baby is growing at a rapid rate, but really?! So much about my belly and body seems to be changing overnight; it's crazy!

I get many regular emails from various pregnancy apps informing me of what is happening in my body and with my baby on a given week. Here is what they said today (Quite timely too!):

Avoiding “Scale Shock”

As your baby begins to grow at a faster rate, you may notice an acceleration in weight gain around the 27 or 28-week mark. While this is perfectly normal, some moms-to-be become concerned about putting on too many extra pounds.

Although pregnancy is not the time to start a strict diet, there are some precautions you can take to keep your weight gain at a healthy level. Center your meals around nutritious, low-fat foods, and pay close attention to portion sizes. Each day, shoot for three or more servings of milk and dairy, at least three servings of vegetables, five or more servings of whole grains, and at least two servings of fruit.

By choosing the right foods and eating the right amounts, you’ll help ensure an easier transition to your pre-baby body after delivery.

I may be currently eating McDonald's for dinner, but I did choose the grilled chicken wrap over a cheeseburger. Sometimes, it's all about the little decisions for baby, right?!
