Several of you had difficulty opening the link I posted yesterday of my son's strong heartbeat at almost 23 weeks. Let's see if this works! Not sure if video will post accurately here...

22 week appointment = success!!

Had another great appointment this AM! Up 3 pounds in the last four weeks, and doctor says I look great! Will not have another sonogram until 36 weeks but got to hear Baby Boy L's strong heartbeat. He's currently hanging out on his side but will shift positions again shortly, I'm sure. Next appointment is at 28 weeks for the glucose test to test for gestational diabetes. Hoping for good news! Here's a video of the heartbeat (Just listen for audio):

We have daycare lined up! Yay!

Sometimes all it takes is a little help from your friends.....on Facebook!

One of my close friend's in-laws live in our neighborhood, have two small children, and highly recommended a nearby child development center for our future son. I had the opportunity to stop by and visit the center unannounced yesterday and immediately FELL IN LOVE.

The organization, structure, attention to detail, care, creativity, security, and innovative techniques practiced by the teachers and assistants there seem like the kind of environment our future son will thrive in, even beginning as a three-month old when I go back to work this fall. It is exactly the kind of care I want him to receive while I have to be at work.

As luck would have it, 5 out of 6 infant spots for the fall were still open, so we went ahead and reserved one for our little guy! SO relieved to have this hurble cleared! YAY!!!!

Let the countdown to June continue!!

Happy Valentine's Day!

I have the best hubby ever! 

He hid cute Valentine's Day cards around the house to me from all of our special family members -- him, Dexter, Mikey, and our unborn son. Soooo sweet and thoughtful! I, of course, cried my eyes out. Yay for pregnancy hormones and emotions!

Wishing you and your loved ones a very Happy Valentine's Day! It's another snow day for me and one week until the 2nd anniversary of my 29th birthday! Haha.

Snowchi!

Well, it's the most snow the greater DC metro area has seen since Snowmagadden in 2010. Here in Clarksburg, MD, about 30 miles north of the city, we got 17 inches of snow with more to come this afternoon! Crazy! We had no school today and are hoping for another closure tomorrow.

Don't worry -- my hubby is also home today, as the federal government is also closed, so he graciously did all of this shoveling. Baby and I ventured out into the snow with Dexter the dog, and here are a few of the impressive shots we took! Bring it, Snowchi!
